Habits that keep it a game
- Set a bankroll and keep it separate from money you need. Only move a few sessions’ worth of buy-ins onto any site, which is also our safety advice for offshore rooms.
- Decide your session length and stop-loss before you sit down, not after a bad beat.
- Track your results honestly. Most people who struggle with gambling underestimate their losses.
- Use the room’s limits. Most rooms offer deposit limits, cooling-off periods and self-exclusion through their support team or account settings.
- Never chase losses or play to fix a money problem.
Warning signs
- Spending more time or money than you planned, again and again.
- Borrowing, or hiding how much you play from people close to you.
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut back.
- Playing to escape stress, or to win back what you lost.
If any of these sound familiar, talk to someone. The helpline above is free and does not judge.
Age and the law
This site is for adults 21 and over. Gambling laws vary by state, and the offshore rooms we review are not licensed by US states. Check the law where you live before you play. Read our affiliate disclosure to see how we are paid.
